Hello,
I got a request from a friend to spread the words about Kony 2012. There's alot of videos out there to watch or informations on the internet. Since there's alot about Kony already, I don't want to be repetitive. You guys made your own research :) But I can give you a few hints. Kony is a bad guy! Why? He kidnaps children from their family and make do horrible things. Why? I don't know. It doesn't matter to me what leads him to do that but destroying other's people happiness is already wrong to me. So he needs to be stopped.
On a slight different note, I will write here some experience I had when it comes to helping people. I am still a student. Thus, I don't work. That being said, I'm not rich. However, I still spend for unecessary things each month. I buy all kind of fattening snacks and useless accessories that end up sitting on my desk collecting dust. So it all began at the time when I was addicted on playing games on facebook. Then the earthquake hapenned in Haiti and the game administrator made a fundrasing event. If we donate 5$ to http://www.mercycorps.org/ , we would get a special item in the game. It sounds very stupid but I did donate the 5$ to get the item but then I started to think. Where is my monney going? How much will be used genuinely to people who really need it? That's when I began to be interested into charity. Instead of buying useless things, I could use that monney to help the lives of people. It's really the best thing you can ever do! It really does feel good when you make someone happy with the little monney you give.
For those who want to help out but are broke like me, you can still help out. My grandmother's friend Goes to Cambodia every year and we always give her clothes that we don't wear anymore because we don't like it or it doesn't fit anymore. So she collects unwanted clothes and sell to the poor people over there at a very cheap price so it is affordable for them. She even filmed the whole process and it was very touching. Therewas a man who didn't have a leg and traveled for days just to buy the clothes. You see how people are in need. When she was done selling the clothes, she would distribute the monney for those who don't have a home. Some friends tell me to not give monney to beggers here in Canada because all they would do is to buy drugs. But trust me! Over there in Cambodia, the main goal is to survive by eating so they don't have enough to spend on useless things like drugs. Some daughters of poor families would even sell their body to buy medecine for their parents. It is very sad when someone is hopeless and surrounded by corruption. So there you go! You can donate clothes or things to people who need it more than you.
If you still don't have anything to give and are broke as well, you can still help :3 Just be nice and kind to the people around you. Sometimes encouragement each other can change alot to the positive. Even a smile can help. I believe that when you are nice to each other, it becomes easier to help each other as well.
Anyway, do inform yourself about Kony 2012 an if you feel like donating, do it here: http://www.mercycorps.org/
Only 12% of all profits are going to administrations soo 88% are really going to help out others. The minimum you can give is 5$. It is very little but by accumulation, it will be alot.
I promess next post will be something different. I've been talking about charity and poor people stuck in difficult situations for the past two posts so it might sound redundant but if it can open up the eyes of some, then it's worth it. Have a nice day! :)
