Mid terms have started and my last one will be this coming week. Then it will be march break. However, it will be full of studying again :/ I have been studying since i was 5 years old so it makes 20 years now...21 very soon. The day I will finish all of this will be a huge celebration. On the other hand, problems aren't solved. There will be new challenges every each solved problems. Looking for a job is a challenge for me. In science, you give your cv and that's it. But in the business industry, you have to look good and smile all the time for an interview. If you have friends working in that field or any type of association, it would be even better wether you have an exceptional potential or a straight A student. What a waste! So if you had good grades but are shy, then you're screwed. You'd better get tipsy and become nothing like yourself! XD nah I'm kidding on this one. But seriously, if you don't get out of your shell, it will be hard to stand out from the crowd. It's like a competition.
Before I studied in actuarial science, I was in biochemistry. At first, it started out good with the A+ but it slowly went to an F. What hapenned? I hated it with a pure passion. The laboratory experiment and the DNA were too much for me. I couldn't imagine myself packing my lunchbox everyday for work at the laboratory for the next 40 years or so. When I told my mom I wanted change my study field, she flipped. So I had to choose quickly something that brings good money and honor to the family. I was lost and stressed. So I asked Thany :'In what should I study? I want to study something related to math' and he said: 'Actuary'. I was puzzled for a moment and asked what it is and he said: 'I don't know but i heard it's very challenging.' So you see, my mom was flipping out and I was running out of time. I even asked my cousin who's studying in accounting thinking that maybe he knows and could be of any help but he was clueless as well. Not to forget 'those people' who can't mind their own f*cking business and gossip around that I left school for good to I run away with a guy. Oh saint Douglas! I wish there aren't such people who like to bring others down to make themselves feel better. Anyway, back to the subject! On my own, I went to a bookstore to make my own research. All I knew was the salary and something related to insurance. So I registered!
There was a meeting held for the new students and you know what hapenned? The principal said: '1 student on 3 will graduate'. My heart dropped and I was like: 'Did I make the right decision? I don't even know what is a actuary.' At that time, I didn't have an answer but now I do. Yes I did make the right decision. It was very challenging and alot of my friends left one by one but here I am. In order to success, you will have to sacrifice alot of things and there's no shortcuts. There are people who are born genius and can complete any task easily. I'm those people who are clumsy and walk into walls very often. So people who think I'm bright, it's not completely right. The geniuses have to read once, I have to do it 3 times. But I'm glad I met alot of friends who helped me along and I will never forget it. I have only 6 courses left and I will be done! So if i can do it, you can do it too. Miracles happen when you try!
For those who are still at school, don't give up. Keep in mind that you might fail a class here and there...so what? Stand up, repeat it again, and take it more seriously. It's not the end of the world. Now my study break is over so gooduck for those studying for their exams!
bye :)
Good Luck Gloo !!! ,, you can do it :D ,, hopefully you will bring the money and honor to your family ASAP :P
